Prosper Therapy & Feeding Solutions Joins Forces with Mother’s Milk Bank of Louisiana as an Official

Monroe, LA, March 4, 2025 -Prosper Therapy & Feeding Solutions is thrilled to announce its new partnership with the Mother’s Milk Bank of Louisiana, officially designating our clinic as a Milk Depot Site. This initiative will provide breastfeeding mothers with a convenient, local drop-off location for their extra breast milk, ensuring that medically fragile infants across the state receive the life-saving nutrition they need.

 

This collaboration allows approved donor moms to deliver their milk donations to their clinic, where they will store and ship the milk directly to the Mother’s Milk Bank of Louisiana. From there, the milk is rigorously tested, pasteurized, and distributed to neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) statewide, giving premature and critically ill newborns the best possible start in life.

 

Bridging the Gap for Louisiana’s Most Vulnerable Infants

 

Breast milk is a crucial resource for premature and medically fragile babies, offering essential nutrients and immune protection that formula cannot replicate. By becoming a Milk Depot Site, Prosper Therapy & Feeding Solutions is helping to bridge the gap between generous donor mothers and the infants who need this nourishment most.

 

How the Milk Donation Process Works:

 

✔️ Step 1: Moms who are already approved donors through the Mother’s Milk Bank of Louisiana can drop off their milk at Prosper Therapy & Feeding Solutions.

✔️ Step 2: Their team ensures the milk is safely stored and shipped to the milk bank for processing.

✔️ Step 3: The donated milk undergoes rigorous testing and pasteurization before being distributed to NICUs across the state.

 

Looking Ahead: Expanding Access to Donor Milk

 

In addition to supporting NICU infants, the Mother’s Milk Bank of Louisiana is actively working on reinstating an outpatient donor milk program. This initiative would allow mothers who are struggling with breastfeeding or low milk supply to access donor milk through depot sites like Prosper. While this program is still in development, Prosper Therapy & Feeding Solutions is proud to support this effort and advocate for expanded access to donor milk.
