Discover Monroe-West Monroe Launches Phase II of Ouachita Paddling Trails
WHO: Ouachita Parish Police Jury and Discover Monroe-West Monroe
WHAT: Ribbon Cutting and Launching Phase II of Ouachita Paddling Trails
WHEN: Friday, June 12, 2026, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
WHERE: Cheniere Lake Area 3, located at 178 LA-3033, West Monroe, LA 71292.
Phase II includes the addition of new trails as well as the opening of a brand-new kayak launch at the same location. The expansion of Ouachita Paddling Trails is creating more opportunities to explore our natural waterways.
This celebratory day features a ribbon cutting at 3:00 p.m. and a demonstration day that comes with the opportunities to experience kayaks and paddling equipment, led by Ouachita Paddle and Provisions. Launch day attendees will be encouraged to try out equipment on site and to stay after 5 p.m. to experience a short paddling trail.
