AT&T Supports Northeast Louisiana Communities Following Winter Storm Fern
As Northeast Louisiana communities continue recovery efforts following Winter Storm Fern, AT&T has contributed $20,000 to support local food assistance initiatives addressing immediate needs across the region.
AT&T provided a $10,000 contribution through the Monroe Chamber of Commerce to support the City of Monroe’s food voucher program. The program will provide $10 food vouchers to residents, redeemable at participating local restaurants, helping families access meals while also supporting local businesses impacted by the storm.
In addition, AT&T donated $10,000 to the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank to assist with its ongoing efforts to distribute food to individuals and families across parishes affected by Winter Storm Fern. The contribution supports the Food Bank as it hosts extra food distributions and supports community partners to meet increased demand following the storm.
“Winter Storm Fern created real challenges for families across our community,” said Monroe Mayor Friday Ellis. “We appreciate AT&T’s support and their partnership with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce to help ensure residents have access to food while our city continues to recover.”
West Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell echoed the importance of regional collaboration during recovery efforts. “When severe weather impacts Northeast Louisiana, our communities come together,” Mitchell said. “Support from partners like AT&T helps strengthen local response efforts and ensures resources reach families who need them most.”
“AT&T is committed to standing with the communities we serve, especially during times of need,” said David Aubrey, President of AT&T Louisiana. “These contributions are part of our broader disaster response efforts to support local leaders and trusted organizations working on the ground to help families recover from Winter Storm Fern.”
Beyond financial support, AT&T teams across Louisiana prepared ahead of the storm, staged equipment and crews, and worked around the clock to restore connectivity as quickly and safely as possible following the severe winter weather. Connectivity plays a critical role in recovery, enabling access to emergency services, critical information, and loved ones during and after natural disasters.
