About Us
The Mission of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is to prepare globally-minded, community-focused physicians to meet the needs of rural and medically underserved populations and promote research to improve human health.
VCOM is one college with four campuses across the Southeastern United States. With the recent addition of the Louisiana campus, VCOM has become one of the largest medical schools in the country. Despite its size, VCOM maintains the nurturing small private college feel for our students. VCOM-Louisiana’s inaugural class graduated on May 10, 2024 and achieved 100% residency match rate in March 2024. This is the first osteopathic medical school class in the state of Louisiana’s history.
