Ochsner LSU Health – Monroe Medical Center is a 233-bed hospital with the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department fully staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians. In 2023, the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN) designated Ochsner LSU Health - Monroe Medical Center as northeast Louisiana’s first Level III Trauma Center. Working seamlessly with the Level I Trauma Center in Shreveport, the Monroe Medical Center team leads trauma and critical care for the entire region. Additionally, as the area’s only Primary Stroke Center the hospital meets and exceeds rigorous national criteria and commitment to resources and a higher standard of clinical practice. Ochsner LSU Health Monroe has expanded access opening additional locations in the community including the West Monroe Urgent Care and the Community Health Center in Monroe on Louisville Avenue.
