The Monroe Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking a fun, energetic, positive, laughing, joyful part time person to join our staff. The ideal candidate must love our city and region. They must be flexible, multi-task, enjoy people, enjoy fun and want to be a difference maker. There is a buzz and energy in our city that we haven’t seen in a long time – the ideal candidate will help us keep that energy going! The perfect candidate must have some technology skills, social media skills and must love working with people. Our glass is neither half full or half empty it is overflowing and we want our candidate to have the same outlook.
Salary/compensation – to be discussed in person
Hours – flexible 20-30 hours a week.  May need to work over depending on events

Overview: Part time Office Administrator:
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce will be hiring a newly created part time position of Office Administrator. The Office Administrator primary job is to support the Chamber Staff and manage the office. The Office Administrator will support the staff in 3 primary responsibilities.
  • Technical Support
  • Media Coordination
  • Events Support
Technical:
1. Learn how to use ChamberMaster to benefit and grow our membership. ChamberMaster is our software system that we use to manage our membership. The ideal candidate must have a good technical and office background.
2. Media Coordination - Assist in all aspects of our media efforts.
a. Campaign – The Chamber runs various media (traditional and digital) campaigns. The Office Administrator will help organize and coordinate content. The ideal candidate must be organized and able to partner with our staff and Marketing Partners at Kinetix.
b. Social Media - Work with staff and the Kinetix team to aggressively grow our Social Media efforts.
c. Communications - Assist staff in keeping communication email messages rolling to our membership.
d. Newsletter - Work with the Kinetix team in upgrading and producing our weekly newsletter.
3. Administrative
a. Membership - Assist Membership Director in updating and growing membership. data input / ChamberMaster, visiting members and retention.
b. Events - Work with Events Director on an as needed basis.
c. Finance - Work with Finance Director on an as needed basis.
 
ALL EVENTS:
Support - Support om preplanning, data input, payments, set up, attend and take photos and post to social media for all events as needed.
 
Affinity Groups:
  • Leadership Ouachita - Be available to help as necessary.
  • Young Professionals – Assist when staff members are not available
  • Ambassadors - Assist when staff members are not available
 
Office:
Answer phones
Walk Ins - handle all walk ins - direct to appropriate staff
Office Supplies - Help manage and order supplies as needed.
Errands - be available to run errands as needed.
