Robert "Slim" Finley

Bernice, Louisiana's Robert "Slim" Finley is a singer/songwriter and guitarist delivering traditional blues and soul music with elements of R&B and gospel. This son of a sharecropper honed his performance skills as a bandleader and musician in the U.S. Army when he was 17, but his major musical success came later in life when “the greatest living soul singer,” in a bizarre twist, found success after 67 years of hard work. Finley is a local celebrity, and will be gracing the Strauss Stage fresh off his European tour. We are thrilled to have him as a part of this inaugural series.
