Join us for a free, family-friendly community event as Downtown Monroe transforms into an immersive celebration of America’s history and spirit. Positioned as a “Kickoff to July 4th,” Flags of Freedom: A Walk Through America will bring history to life throughout Anna Gray Noe Park with interactive scenes, historical characters, and patriotic experiences for all ages.
Guests will walk through iconic moments in American history, including:
• Betsy Ross creating the first American flag
• George Washington crossing the Delaware
• The Statue of Liberty
• Historical figures including Uncle Sam, Paul Revere,
Rosie the Riveter, Abraham Lincoln, and Pocahontas
In partnership with the Strauss Theatre Center, these moments will come to life through live actors, costuming, sound, and storytelling designed to create a memorable and educational experience for families.
The evening will also feature:
• Hot dogs
• Snow cones
• Lemonade
• Face painting
• A striking display of 250 American flags throughout the park
