Dollar General Market Ground Breaking
Mayor Ellis, the City of Monroe, and Dollar General Market are excited to announce the addition of a new grocery store in South Monroe, honoring a commitment to expand the selection of fresh food choices in the area. This addition to the neighborhood aims to cater to the needs of local residents, offering a one-stop shopping destination for household essentials. This will be the first time in over 20 years a fresh food grocery store has opened in this area.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Dollar General Market to Monroe," said Mayor Friday Ellis. "We recognize the importance of having access to fresh, wholesome foods, and this new location will cater to the needs of our residents."
The groundbreaking is scheduled for November 9 at 4 PM at 4203 Jackson St., just south of the City of Monroe Annex building.
