It’s another beautiful day in Monroe, Louisiana November 21, 2022

Monroe Chamber of Commerce

What's up this weekend?

Check out what’s happening in MWM this weekend!

Dear Chamber Members,
It truly is a BEAUTIFUL Day in Monroe, Louisiana. I shared with a group the other day that when I say "It's a BEAUTIFUL day in Monroe" I wasn't talking about the weather. Although most of the time we have great weather.I was talking about our people, our lifestyle, our community and our chamber members. I was talking about the beauty of each of you inside and out. You all make our city great - you all make our city beautiful. What a blessing to wake up in Monroe everyday, what a blessing to call each of you friend and what a blessing to be part of this chamber.
In this season of Thanksgiving I am so thankful for each of you reading this note. I am thankful for the blessing of calling Monroe home. I am thankful for our future. I have recently been sharing Jeremiah 29:11 when I speak - the two words that resonate in that verse are "Hope" and "Future". This city is on the move and your chamber is right in the middle of the growth. Everywhere you look you see that Hope and that Future. Three weeks ago Governor Edwards was here and he kept using the word transformative. Our city is looking so much better and very shortly we will see construction begin downtown on the Candy Company buildings on Walnut, construction will start on Kansas Lane, and we have already broken ground on the Bio-Medical Research and Innovation Park. Last week your Board of Directors met for a planning and strategy session for next year. So much hope and so much conversation about our future and about fulfilling our mission of creating an environment where your business thrives. Thank you for investing in the Chamber and I promise you we are working hard everyday not to let you down. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.
A couple of things to note - don't forget our/your annual Holiday GALA and Auction on December 1st.. We still have tickets available and I promise you a great time. Our state's greatest ambassador, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, will be here December 8th to talk about Louisiana at the Macy's parade, the Rose Parade and what's in store for 2023 plus we are putting the finishing touches on this year's "Inside the Chamber" magazine. Also, this week we start "Shop & Eat Local Ouachita" - a social media campaign promoting our retail and restaurant members over the holiday season. SHOP LOCAL!
Thank you again -
Roy
